For the past few weeks I've been on a mission to completely overhaul my skincare routine, a task that has proved to be somewhat tricky: it's hard to stick to the stuff that you know work for you, while being on the lookout for something better, of possibly "holy grail" status - I mean, how many different products until a skin goes berserk?
In this state, therefore, of skincare madness, finding a product that immediately delivers, is more than a pleasant surprise! Cue Face Lift Face Mask by That's Better, a Glowbox offering from a couple months back. For those of you that have never heard of the brand, let me quickly say that it's a Greek skincare brand, that bases its products on açaí berry, a potent anti-oxidant.
Now, as far as face masks go, I've always been a loyal fan of Apivita, their
formulas work well with my skin and they're affordable and easy to find. Still, my dry skin often requires something a bit more nourishing, and it's exactly that hole that this face mask is filling.
Formulated with shea butter, hyaluronic acid and vitamin E (the latter two being ingredients that I always look for in skincare products), it's clear from the get-go that this mask is suited for dry and tired (read: dull looking) skintypes. The brand also claims that it has lifting and antiwrinkling abilities, but I don't know just how evident that would be from something you put on your face for a few minutes once or twice a week.
Here's what I do know, though: it leaves my skin soft, plump and moisturized and it eliminates that tight feeling that dry skintypes are well familiar with. I think that its thicker consistency plays a huge part in this: it's not a face mask that completely sinks in, in fact you can still see some bits of it before you wash it off. Another thing that I noticed, is that it completely diminished any redness I had (due to my previous exfoliation routine), within the first few minutes, a big thumbs up from me! Now, as I already mentioned, it's not a lightweight product that can be used daily by all skintypes (in fact I think that oily and acne prone skin would find this too heavy), but if you 're looking for a rich face mask to quench your dry skin, once or twice a week, then this is probably what you're looking for!
Have you tried this face mask or anything else by That's Better?
What are your go-to masks for your skintype and have you found your HG product yet?

ReplyDelete@Blushingloves Irene Greece: Yep, I agree, things aren't that simple and straightforward when it comes to slimming products! But, That's Better seems like a promising brand, perhaps give it another go and let us know! ;))
DeleteI really liked this mask but my holy grail for my dry skin in the la roche posay hydraphase mask.It was love at first sight!you should give it a try!
ReplyDelete@Stella: Thank you for your recommendation!!! It had totally skipped my mind that LRP do that mask - though, the Hydraphase Serum is a current favorite!!! Need to make a mental note to try that too! ;)
DeleteHyaluronic acid is like the siren's song to me so I'll definitely check it out!
ReplyDelete@ScrapgalGR: Yours and mine too sistah! Hahaha! Might be worth noting though, that this is a lot thicker than the usual hyaluronic masks and serums, that come in gel form!
DeleteI do enjoy putting on a hydrating mask during winter, even though my face is combo-to-oily. Like you, I'm quite happy with most (if not all!) Apivita face masks, but I'd love to try this one out!

@Evi: Hmm, this may be a touch too much for oily skintypes, not sure I'd recommend it! I probably think that Apivita is the better, trusted choice in this case! xxx
